Job Description
The company is looking for a Spring Intern to join its London-based investment team. The Intern will be part of a young and motivated group, working closely with senior investment team members and Partners.
HCPA works across the family’s investment activities, including the management and oversight of its financial investment portfolio, alongside strategic and other support to the family’s core operating businesses and other investment interests. The investment portfolio spans a range of asset classes and investment strategies, including public equities, private equity, funds, credit and other financial investments. HCPA works closely with the family, senior investment professionals and the wider group in developing investment strategy, evaluating opportunities and monitoring existing investments.
The Intern will fill a generalist role within the team’s advisory services and will have exposure to every stage of the investment process from asset allocation strategy through to investment selection and execution. Over the course of the internship the successful candidate will participate in the team’s core investment activities, which may include:
· Research and analysis into candidate investment opportunities, (this may include both public and private as well as candidate private equity and hedge fund opportunities),
· Financial statement analysis and financial modelling,
· Researching industries and markets,
· Preparation of discussion materials (including presentations to Partners, quarterly reporting and Board presentations),
· Monitoring the existing portfolio (including research, risk measurement and valuation),
· Formulating client asset allocation strategies
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:
· Passion for investments and financial markets,
· High degree of numerical, verbal and analytical competence,
· Strategic thinking and thorough problem solving,
· Strong self-motivational skills and ability to work independently,
· Strong interpersonal skills and a teamwork ethic,
· Experience working within Microsoft Office,
· Scandinavian language skills, with a preference for Norwegian.
Students from all degrees will be considered, however a high-level of numerical literacy is required. The applicant must be enrolled in a master’s program, with a strong academic track record.
